What Should Therapy Feel Like With Me?
About Therapy
Walking into therapy can feel unfamiliar at first.
Many people are used to holding it together-succeeding at work or school and appearing fine on the outside-while silently suffering with anxiety, depression, burnout, or disconnection.
You can Just Be
When you log in for a session with me, the space is meant to feel different from the pressures of daily life.
You don’t have to have it all together, perform, explain everything perfectly, or pretend things are fine.
What to expect in our sessions
Sessions are collaborative and conversational. We may focus on current stressors like work, school, relationships, or life transitions, while also exploring deeper patterns in thoughts and habits using cognitive, values-based, mindfulness-based, or other strategies.
Along the way, there may be insight, difficult moments, relief, and even laughter.
Therapy is not about fixing everything overnight but about feeling understood while being gently challenged to grow.
You might start feeling different over time
Over time, this work begins to show up in everyday life.
Clients often feel less overwhelmed, more grounded during stress, and more connected to a life that feels balanced and meaningful.
About Me
Your Colorado Telehealth Therapist
Hi, I am Melissa. I am a licensed professional counselor with over 12 years of clinical experience and hold a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Augusta University. My mission is to provide telehealth therapy that helps busy, high-achieving overthinkers quiet their inner critic and thrive with greater clarity, confidence, and self-compassion.
I have been trained and work with a mix of therapies. I became a therapist because I believe no one should have to struggle with mental health challenges in silence.
As someone who takes work-life balance seriously, I love adventure and travel. Fun fact: I’ve hiked over 100 of Colorado’s hiking trails and visited more than 30 countries. You will also find me eating my way around Denver or spending time with my husband and our dog, Duke.
My Therapy Dog, Duke
Duke, the yellow lab mix, isn't a healthcare provider—he's simply here for comfort and companionship. You might spot him in the background of our sessions, probably napping.
